When you develop a web application, a file appears .htaccess, using this file you can configure the server’s file. Today in this article, I am going to tell you what is .htaccess file and how to redirect any URL to https in PHP using .htaccess file with example.
Htaccess is a confirmation file which is used in web server. When you just place .htaccess file inside directory which will be loaded via apache web server. First of all, you will need to open your .htaccess file. Then put the code you can see below inside the box.

Now you are done with htaccess file, just put this file in your project root folder and run your project it will work well.

Htaccess is file name in general, we can say it is not an extension. You can not write like filename.htaccess but you can write like .htaccess simply. You will get an actual effect when you place this file in particular project root folder. This will load via Apache web server file will take effect over the entire directory it is placed in and all files and sub directories within the specific or specified web directory.
Redirect any URL to https URL in PHP. Now if you type any URL from above it will be automatically redirected to https://www.thecodehelpers.com.
