Difference Between Push Notifications & Text Messages

Although there is so much same functionality still push notification is not the same as a text message. even push notification and text message both appear on the lock screen of the user phone still both are totally different.

A text message will be longer because user can open and read the entire message
but if push notification get cutoff on users lock screen it will be affected to your conversation.

You can directly open your application and target to particular product when user will click on notification while in text message you cannot that’s why we can say that push notification has higher click-through and conversation rate then text message.

If we talk about cost then push notification is totally free for any android or iOS user to receive but same case is not apply in text message.

When any user swipe to open push notification having same effect as a text message when you click on text message it will redirect you to messaging application while push notification redirect you on particular app which is sending message.

If we talk about privacy then we can say push notification is more better because user totally know that who is sending notification obviously application owner is sending push notification while in text message spammer can also send you message which is not safe for user.

Introduction to Opt-in and Opt-out of Push Notifications

If user don’t want your notification from your end. then they will turn off push notification. it means it is in control which is far different in text message. In short correct push notification must have high open rate, but most of app user says that they are annoying and totally distracted with push notification.
